Getting Around EKU
EKU's main campus is located in Richmond, one of the fastest growing cities in Kentucky. Over sixteen thousand part-time, full-time, traditional, and non-traditional students attend classes on our campuses.
Learning how to navigate campus, services and policies and procedures are ways to familiarize yourself with the University community.
Campus tours (geared toward the perspective of a first-year student) are available through the Campus Visitation Program.

Orientation Directions
Orientation for new employees is held at the EKU Richmond Campus. Directions to Richmond
Orientation sessions are held at the Crabbe Library (map item #34) in room 208. Employee and visitor parking is available in the Jones (map item #5) and Alumni (map item # 2) parking lots. Campus & Parking Map
Colonel 1 Card
You will receive your employee identification card, the EKU Colonel 1 Card at your Orientation session. Your Colonel 1Card includes your employee ID number, which gives you access to many university systems including EKU Direct, etc.
Your Colonel 1 Card has many uses that include obtaining library materials, access to wellness facilities, access to campus transportation. Your card may also be used as a cashless meal ticket through Flex Dollars and Block Meal memberships.
The Colonel 1 Card Office is located on the main floor of the Powell Student Center.
Campus Safety & Security
EKU strives to provide a safe and secure environment for employees, students and visitors.
The EKU Police Department provides 24 hour patrol on the Richmond campus. The department provides specific information on crime prevention, university emergency procedures, campus crime reports, policy on weapons and substance use.
Depending upon your job duties, your department may require that you complete specific safety training. There is also required office safety training for all new employees completing Orientation. Online Safety Training Login
EKU Dining Services offers a variety of options on campus open from early morning to late night.
Locations accept a variety of payments, including Faculty/Staff Meal Memberships.
The Arlington Association offers dining, social and recreational opportunities.

Campus Dining & Shopping
The EKU Bookstore offers textbooks, merchandise and other materials through the campus store and via the web. Faculty and staff receive a 10% discount with the Colonel 1 Card.
Richmond Community Information
Historic Richmond, the 6th largest city in Kentucky, is located in Madison County. Richmond was founded in 1798 by Colonel John Miller, a Revolutionary War Soldier, and named in honor of Miller's birthplace, Richmond, Virginia. Richmond is located in the beautiful Bluegrass region of Kentucky.
